Kim Little scored Arsenal’s first goal with a penalty just before half-time

Arsenal Women’s manager Joe Montemurro believes his side can go all the way and win the Uefa Women’s Champions League following a 6-0 aggregate win over Italian side Fiorentina.

The Gunners, who are competing in the Champions League for the first time since 2013, beat last year’s Serie A runners-up 2-0 on Thursday to add to their 4-0 first-leg advantage.

Captain Kim Little scored their opener from the penalty spot just before the break before Vivianne Miedema’s cool second-half finish doubled the lead.

And, after another impressive performance, Montemurro is convinced his side is capable of lifting the trophy to add to last season’s Women’s Super League triumph.

“We go into every tournament to win,” said Montemurro.

“I believe in this time, I believe in the way we play and hopefully we can continue this momentum.

“It was a professional performance. We were smart in dragging them out then finding the spaces to break the lines. You can see the measure of the team [Fiorentina]. They’re not a bad side.”

Arsenal will find out who they face in the next round when the draw takes places on Monday.
